Those who Inspire Me.

As you can see from the title, today's post is going to be about those who inspire me, whether it is in my studies, music, studies or even attitude, these people are the ones to look out for.



The first, Lady Gaga.

I mean, what more can i say about her than you cant already see? She revolutionised fashion of the 21st century with her crazy costumes and 7 inch platforms. Designers are DYING to clothe her. She got widely criticized for this, but she kept her middle finger held high and kept at what she was doing. Now, people have warmed up to the idea of avant-garde fashion, and now, she is one of the most popular fashion icons in the world. Gaga, may i rape your wardrobe please? :3

Who can forget this CUTE bow hair?? We all have to thank her for inventing this.

My favourite Gaga fashion moment. Fuck the haters, this meat dress was the one that made people WAKE UP and pay attention to the awesome multi-talented her.

Are you kidding me?

Now some of you guys might say, she only inspires you just coz of her clothes? Of course not!! I look at whether singers can actually sing before I study them any further. Of course, the fashion is a perk. As is have said before, those who says lady Gaga cant sing need to get their ears checked badly. She sings flawless live ballads and can hit all her high notes well. (Adele cant even hit higher than a B in her live performances without using her head voice. And whats up with all the hype about her.) 

Just a side note, Gaga graduated from Julliard and wrote "Fever" (Adam Lambert's song now) when she was only 19. And it became a HUGE hit. Being classically trained in piano as well, she wrote the acoustic version of pokerface and performed it live with a piano, complete with her powerful voice. (and, that version was also performed by the Glee cast.) so Basically, Gaga writes her own songs.

Before she became such a megastar, Lady Gaga had her tough times. She was condescended upon by her peers because they thought she was weird, which left her lonely and sad. She just couldnt seem to fit in with anybody else. (And im glad she didnt.) That didnt get her down though. Also, I dont know where I heard this piece of information from, but someone said that Lady Gaga told her ex-bf (who kept discouraging her i think): Ill make sure you wont be able to buy a fucking cup of coffee without hearing my name over the radio. You go, girl!!

Next on my list, who else but my Adam? <3

He is all eyeliner, rocker screamer goodness, as we all already know. Classically trained in voice as a child, he did musical theatre for twenty over years, then went into American idol and exploded into the music scene with his awesome timbre and high notes. Check out his Whole Lotta Love performance on American Idol if you havent. amazing stuff.

But, the reason why inspires me, is because of his personality. Everyone who has met him in person all loves him and is kissing every inch of his beautiful boots and butt when asked to comment about him. Even some cynical meanies from Idolatry praised Adam for managing to never make them dislike him. The big question is, HOW does Adam manage to please everyone? 

Maybe, it is all due to his ability to speak well. He can go on and on (and on and on and on) if you let him. This, I am extremely jealous of, because I cant even hold a proper conversation with someone without having awkward silences in between. I suck i know. He talks so much, and yet seem so interesting that you pay attention to every single word he says (unlike teachers). Wish I had that ability.

Or perhaps, because he is always so down to earth. He thanks everyone for their hard work, gives credit to those people who deserve it, and always works very, very hard. Background information before Idol: Quit college to pursue his dreams, lived in a rundown apartment filled with cockroaches (his mum was so shocked till she cried all the way home), did odd jobs to earn a living to pay the rent, and perform everyday in the theater. He never defends himself when people criticizes his performances (i mean on singing, the AMAs is a totally different matter), he just takes it in and improves himself.

Note to all Adam fans out there: he is performing with Queen again, go watch it on youtube when it comes out!

And most definitely, he cares for everybody. Charity projects: Trevor and CharityWater. During Idol, everyone went to him for suggestions on song choice, and he happily helped them out. What will the world do without this guy?

Lastly, and i think most importantly, my friends. All of them have influenced me in one way or another, inevitably. Let me list them out now:

Veronica Lee, my best buddy for 4 years and coming. I even skyped her just now HAHA. She taught me that I dont have to care about what others think of me, and just be myself. Acting cool, is NOT cool. We should appreciate those low profile people, because they are usually the ones who makes the best friends.

Goh Yee Hwa, my future personal designer >:) It's okay to be weird, it's okay to be unique, no matter how much people might criticize your taste. One day, you will end up being more successful than your peers. Also, even if you dont have much money with you, you can use the amount oyu have to its full potential.

Looh Yue Ning, the epitome of the goody two shoes. We must always respect our parents' decisions, no matter how unreasonable they are, and we should not argue back.Always be tolerant of other people no matter how much they irritate or annoy you, it is better that way.

Hwai Mun, my lovely, kind and down to earth girl. We should have a kind heart and treat everyone with care. Also, I have to stay true to myself, if not I wouldnt be happy. I dont have to like whatever other people likes. Oh, and it is worth waiting for that special someone in your life, rushing into things just aint good for you. :)

Someone whose name i shouldnt mention just in case. You can do achieve anything as long as you put your mind to it. From normal acad, to express, and 9 points for O lvls, now my schoolmate, and one of the coolest people to some others.

And my AC family, they taught me that no matter where you come from, what matters is now. <3

YTCCO Recital! / We all feel the same.

 Hey readers!

Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I went for a Chinese Orchestra recital, mostly because of wanting to support my friends and also partly because I was interested to see what chinese music sounded like live. To say the least, it was actually good!

Personally, Chinese music isn't very pleasing to my ear especially when I have been brought up in such an 'English' environment and have been listening to classical music since I was a baby. However, the pieces that were played were pleasant and soothing, especially the last encore piece that was apparently composed by one of the players (i think). It was beautiful. The solos were quite entertaining to watch, especially their facial expressions, as I knew exactly what the soloists were thinking. I wanted to go up to them, slap them on the back and say: Chill dude, we are gonna think you are great no matter what comes out of your instrument! Not to say that they were bad, they were awesome.

So, met up with Ning and Yin Hao at 6 to eat dinner and we headed off to Yew Tee CC. Ning and I just followed YH because we had no idea where the CC was hahaha. We saw the CO practising in the room, and after they finished, the first thing that happened was ShinYing waving frantically at Ning and I, and we waved back with equal enthusiasm. Bun almost skipped out to meet us. His actions just brings a smile to one's face, I mean how could you not be glad when someone's so eager to meet you?? Zhi Kai was so unfriendly, he just ignored us when he turned to our direction, but then I later found out that he couldnt recognise us. It was only until i waved very hard that he acknowledged the group.

When I introduced Zhi Kai and Ning to each other, I mentioned that they were in the same primary school. Prior to this, they completely ignored each other, so apparently, they dont know the opposite party. And so, the conversation went like this:-

Theo - this is Zhi Kai, this is Yue Ning. You two were in the same primary school, but i have no idea why you two dont know each other.

 ZK (to yuening) - You look very familiar...

Ning - Ya you look very familiar... but cant possibly in the same class.

ZK - yeah coz i dun remember you.... what class were you in?

Ning - 6H.

ZK - Huh?! 6H? then how come... (epic shocked face)

Theo (to ZK) - You were in 6H?

ZK - Ya, but...

Ning - *blink blink*

Theo - OMG WHERE HAVE BOTH OF YOU BEEN

 One does not simply have no clue that your classmate even existed.

Hahaha.

I have to thank Yin Hao for being such a gentleman, he walked Ning and I back to the MRT even though he didnt have to, and for also being so patient when I was being a pain in the ass for wanting to go back to the CC to use the washroom. Thanks!! :D

During the bus ride, Ning introduced a really fun game called "tap the frog" on her newly attained iTouch, and boy was it addictive. With the burning competitive spirit inside of me, I made sure I got a higher number of stars than ning for every minigame there was to play. I mostly succeeded except for those that I really failed at. Some of the frogs were so unresponsive. -.- (YN u know what im talking about xD) I played all the way from 9 to 10.40 hahaha.

It had been a really enjoyable day <3





This next part is inspired by the latest update by our lovely Bun. But i dont know where to start.....

"I was just like you simply because i loved by OG so so much i refuse to let them leave my left. On 2nd thoughts, Og will still be there, Your Ogmates might ended up in initiating to leave for their class as well. Still you all can meet up as one OG but then once y'all experience something different in school life, the only thing in common between OG Mates is memories of Orientation." - Senior.


It is already known how much I love my OG mates. They are kind, un-judging, friendly, sweet, open, caring, fun and absolutely crazy. Of course we would feel sad when separated into our different classes! I tried not to get to attached to my OG, but alas, it was not meant to be. It feels as if they are the ONLY family that I know in AC. 


But it is time to wake up to reality. All our timetables are so different, all of us take japlang courses and we are all thrown in opposite directions. What made us think that we could be together forever? Some of us have already accepted the fact that our classmates are the people that we will spend more time with than the OG, and hence the constant meetings and other stuff, and that is what all of us should do. Just perhaps, maybe, we would not even have the energy to contact one another coz we are just too sick and tired of the amount of work and pressure we have to deal with.  


Even after saying all of this, I still hope that all of us will never forget each other, and meet up during the holidays when we are free, or go support each other whenever one has a recital, or competition or concert. One thing that's for sure, you all are the most precious people in ACJC that I ever met, and I will never want to let that go.

Valentine's Day Special :)

Hey there!

The day after tomorrow is Valentine's day, the day that all singles like me dread. *foreveralone.com* In all honesty i find it sickening for couples to be acting all lovey dovey in public, not because I find it gross but because I am super jealous of them. You mind giving us singles a chance to emo in peace??? (If I had my own boyfriend I think my behaviour would be even more disgusting than theirs :P)

Sixteen years of my life has passed by in a flash, and not in a single year have I had a REAL, loving guy who would have stayed by my side regardless of how I behave. Of course, I have had tons of crushes, and all on the same types of guys: charismatic, funny and gentleman-ly. Popular, but not stuck up, and most importantly, those that don't have to act cool to look cool. Some guys are born handsome so they naturally belong to the popular clique even if they act like jerks, but not exactly my type.

Guys who look like this, you have a very high chance xD

But if you dont like me then you better stay away coz Ill stalk you. Muahahahaha.

Well, many crushes, but not a single one whom I have confessed to. Many people might say: Go for it! You can do it!, but when you are actually handling that task, it is way harder than you think. If he doesn't like you back, even your friendship with him is destroyed. And as someone who does not have many guy friends, it is pretty horrifying. Been there, done that, no more trying.

 I'd very much rather save those tears for some other occasion.

For us poor singles out there, why don't we celebrate Valentine's Day with people we love, like friends and family? They, I'm sure, love us much more than any boyfriend does, no matter what you couples out there think. :P (sour grape Theo) We could use this day to show our appreciation to these great people for being there for us when we need them. What could be better than handmade gifts? :D

oh my gosh, gifts that could totally make my day.

As a scorpio, I am a pretty sensual creature and a romantic at heart, so my emotions overtake my mind most of the time (which is why im good at the arts and not science). That being said, it is heartbreaking to be single, because I want to experience what it is like to be loved in return and not just giving my heart and soul to someone who quite frankly doesnt give a damn. To you people reading, what does your star sign say about you and your love life? :) 

 Finally, to the special one out there:

Hey, I don't care how long it takes to find you, I know that I will meet you someday. Please don't make me wait forever, you and I will be very lonely without each other. I hope we make so many happy memories together in the future and make all the other couples jealous. I love you more than anything else in this morbid place, so take my hand and dive into a whole new world with me, where we are the only beings who exist and nothing else matters. 

 And I will be with you right until the very end.

ACJC Orientation 2012! :D

Hey people, im back. :)

The past week was the most enjoyable, high and freaky week i have had. :D

It was ACJC orientation, and the environment was new and intimidating. I was very nervous about many things. Will I make new friends? Will my past come back and haunt me? Does AC people really look down on neighbourhood school kids like the rumours say?

It is a pleasure for me to announce that I was so goddamn wrong :)

I was placed in a clan called Avalon and my OG name is Leonidas. I had to get my stitches removed, so I missed the self-introduction process and only managed to join my group after that. The only person I knew was Chris, who also DSAed through string ensemble. Shipei (my OGL) introduced me to the group of people sitting down at the table staring at me, and in my mind i was thinking: shit. I think they think im weird. Jia Hui (gal) made some space for me to sit, so I sat down. In front of me were a whole row of guys. I haven't had the best of experiences with guys in secondary school, and it was too awkward to talk to the girls only and ignore them, so I kept my mouth shut. To my utter astonishment, Mao started to introduce himself to me, then the others also started speaking up. You can't imagine how pleasantly surprised and happy I was then, because I thought that I would never make friends with those people, especially since I was the only one who wasn't introduced earlier.

Over the past few days, Leonidas bonded REALLY well, even better than i thought. Everyone is really friendly, funny and sweet. Sarah Boss in particular is HILARIOUS, everything she does makes me laugh my ass off. To summarise what happened, im going to rip off Edwin's photos (if u dont mind).....

The final part of camp, where all of us had to gather and talk about our experiences, was a truly emotional experience for, im sure, everyone. We came into school with the same feelings, then grew together, and finally, became a family. To me, Leonidas is the best OG ever, no matter what anyone says.
